Each year, NARI members are encouraged to submit their best remodeling work to be considered for the Contractor of the Year (COTY) Award. The COTY represents the "best of the "best" in the remodeling and design-build industry. This award is for the remodeling industry what the Oscar is for the motion picture industry.

There are 35 entry categories of eligible remodeling and design-build projects. A panel of distinguished judges review all entries for their design, creativity, functionality and quality. Results of the judging are not revealed until they are announced during the COTY Awards Gala, normally held in January. Award categories vary from year to year and range from "Best Kitchen under $30,000" to "Best Custom Home over $1,000,000". This year we added two new green remodeling categories: "Green Remodeling Interior" and Green Remodeling Entire House."

COTY entry binders must be completed with detailed information about their submission on or around the end of October and must include an entry fee. The judges review the submission and will provide the entrants with the judges' comments after the COTY Awards are presented. The COTY awards are presented for the company and team (suppliers, sub-contractors and manufacturers) whose achievements demonstrate outstanding remodeling and design-build elements.

Winning a COTY award is very prestigious and is a wonderful marketing tool for the winning contractors. Consumers are becoming aware of the COTY brand and are looking to hire COTY winners.
