Not only are NARI members the industry's finest, they are also extremely dedicated to the communities they serve. In 2004, NARI Metro DC (NARI) formalized a partnership with Rebuilding Together, the nation's largest home rehabilitation organization, working with 245 national affiliates in 48 states, with the goal of having a NARI-member lead carpenter on every job.

In June 2007, NARI members joined Rebuilding Together for the Heroes at Home project in Montgomery County, whose mission was to renovate a home for returning soldier, Army Specialist Ryan C. Major. Ryan lost both his legs when an explosive device exploded while he was on foot patrol searching for bomb makers in Ramadi, Iraq. Over thirty NARI members signed on to oversee all aspects of the $134,000 renovation, which included the installation of an elevator and widened doorways. This was but one of the projects where NARI members selflessly gave their time and skills to those in need.
