About NARI: Certification

Homeowners hire remodelers they can trust. They want to hire a professional with specific skills, experience, training, and a commitment to ethical conduct. Taking your career to the next level by achieving NARI Certification helps you distinguish yourself and establish that trust. NARI's Certification Program recognizes the skills and achievements of eight distinct groups of remodeling professionals of particular interest to homeowners.

To become certified, you must:
  1. Meet the work experience and continuing education qualifications listed in the application for the relevant designation
  2. Pass a written exam.
The Certification Program is administered by NARI National, and anyone can arrange for an exam directly with NARI National. The National application forms are available on NARI Nationalšs web site (click here for national application forms).

HOWEVER, if you want to significantly enhance your chances of passing the exam, we recommend enrolling in a NARI Metro DC study group. Study groups meet once a week for twelve weeks and are a great way to prepare you for the exam. Study groups are usually offered starting in the Spring (March) and Fall (September). The combined certification/study group applications are available when the study groups are announced on our Study Group page.
